The Joy of Wasting Your Time

I haven't read too many blogs, but I bet a lot of them start with some introspective drivel about why the world needs or doesn't need another blog.

You know why I think this? It's because I have this intuition that, whatever I do, whenever I do it, somehow, in some sense, I am everyman. So now that I'm starting a blog, since I am so tempted to write some introspective drivel about why the world needs or doesn't need another blog, my assumption is that most bloggers deal with and probably give in to the same temptation.

On some level, I must think that I'm the 'template' in contemplate. Is this 'everyman' sensibility some kind of 'I'm not that special' humility, or is it an 'I know what everyone thinks' arrogance?

Well, you can find out for yourself if you ever come back and read The Learning Trust.

I'll tell you up front, my aim is to live out the words of Micah 6:8 in the Bible: "He has shown you, oh man, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."

So, yeah, I want to be humble, but if you find me arrogant, feel free to slap me down--lovingly of course.

What am I going to do with your precious time, anyway? Whenever I get around to it, I'll drop off some words about what I'm learning about trust, specifically trust in God. I believe that life is all about learning love and trust.

I believe that everything that happens in life is an opportunity to learn trust. I keep finding out more. I'll pass it along. Stay tuned.
